About this painting:

 

This painting was created very spontaneously and speaks mostly of the unconscious. Blue sky is threatened by hovering black forms of an indistinct nature, whilst in the lower half, an enticing red features two forms leaning into each other. It is a painting of divisions and togetherness, relationship in need of healthy boundaries and security.

Each viewer sees different forms. Forms have been interpreted as two heads pressing together, sperm, a penetrated egg, angel wings, witches, a breast, a hill and even a pig (black eyes right and left towards canvas top). I would say that each has meaning on some level. Certainly it was painted when I was in a relationship that seemed to involve a monotonous succession of manipulative third parties without any real sense of healthy boundaries. A time of insanity!

To me it suggests vulnerability alongside escape from the outside world, but in reality it is a work with many dimensions of meaning — all valid.
